Buggy & Trolley Traffic Light System
These rules apply throughout the year to all golfers using both hire and privately owned equipment. Daily traffic lights will be published on the website, V1 App and will be available by contacting the pro shop.
This system is for equipment use only, hole closures, course condition & restrictions will still be in effect and displayed separately.
Buggy & Trolley Policies
Disabled Players & those with Qualifying Health Conditions Defined
As defined under section 6 of the Equality Act 2010.
Players will automatically qualify as disabled or with a health condition if they are in possession of a current blue badge in their name or a signed medical exemption certificate.
Players who do not automatically qualify will be considered on an individual basis and in the first instance should contact Richard in the Pro Shop who will advise in the strictest confidence.
Winter Buggy/Trolley Course Layout
Front 9 holes
The winter buggy/trolley course layout has been introduced to allow as many golfers as possible the opportunity to play in adverse weather conditions. The layout is generally drier than other areas of the course but when playing please follow these additional rules:
Players must report to the pro shop before tee off, staff will advise on how busy the course is and any further details specific for that day.
When using buggy’s, single seat ride-on’s and trolleys please stick to the rough or pathways where possible and away from closely mowed areas.
Carrying Clubs
When winter rules are in operation the club hopes as many members as possible will carry their clubs if able to do so. Carrying clubs protects the course and can help keep it open for longer during sustained periods of bad weather. The traffic light system is in place to address Health & Safety issues and to limit damage to the course during adverse weather conditions as well as complying with the Equality Act 2010.
Breach of Rule
If any player fails to comply with these rules, the club may ask them to leave the course and may prohibit the player from using buggies or trolleys on the course in future.
Rental Buggy Terms
Private and Pro shop rented buggy drivers and passengers are required to comply with the following conditions:
All buggy drivers must hold a valid full UK driving license.
No person under the age of 18 may operate a buggy.
No buggy shall be driven on or near any tees, greens, bunkers, trees, staked hazards or ditches.
Wet areas and ground under repair (GUR) must be avoided.
The Club may prohibit the use of buggies when ground conditions are unsuitable.
No more than 2 persons and 2 sets of clubs shall be carried on a buggy.
Drivers should be fully conversant with the controls of the buggy.
Brakes should be applied gently to avoid skidding.
No standing on a buggy while it is in motion.
Hands and feet must be kept inside the buggy at all times, you must not attempt to exit the buggy whilst it is in motion.
Caution must be exercised when reversing.
Caution must be exercised on all slopes and inclines.
Always apply the parking brake when leaving the buggy.
Drive only as fast as the terrain allows.
Do not attempt to drive buggies across or up/down any steep slopes.
Please inform the Pro Shop of any faults with the buggy immediately.
Do not drive the buggy if you consider any fault to be dangerous and telephone the Pro shop immediately for assistance.
All accidents or incidents involving a buggy must be reported immediately to the pro shop for entry in the accident book.
